Ultrasounds (also called sonograms or sonographies) during pregnancy offer your healthcare providers insight into how your baby is progressing. Being accurate, non-invasive, relatively low risk and cost-effective, the obstetrical ultrasound has become an indispensable tool in monitoring pregnancy, especially when high risk.
What are the different types of ultrasounds during pregnancy?
Routine ultrasound: Your gynecologist will recommend a routine 2D ultrasound to determine fetal life, number and presentation, gestational age, placental position and evaluate the anatomy of the fetus.
3D sonogram: Provides three dimensional images of the fetus to determine if there are any fetal anomalies
4D ultrasound: 3D sonograms in real time
Hysterosonogram: A saline infusion sonography to detect abnormalities in the uterine cavity
Level 2 ultrasound: Detailed, full fetal anatomy scan with sophisticated imaging for detection of abnormalities
First trimester ultrasound: Determines the viability of a fetus when there is spotting during pregnancy, cramping in the first trimester or other irregularities.

"I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I have read up on quite a bit of expecting moms experiences with their ultrasounds around the country and they were less then favorable, some horrible. But our (my husband and I) visit to your Baptist office was wonderful. The office is nice and decor is great. The tech was patient and educated. She answered all our questions, some before we even asked. She gave us her undivided attention and took her time. I am looking forward to my next appointment. Great service provided!"
